Quirky Relationship

I wouldn't call what I have with The Doctor quirky, a little different but not like it has never happened before. But relationship with my mom is rather quirky, well with my parents in general anyways. As my previous posts have indicated, I'm not all that close with my parents unlike The Doctor and his mother. From the sound of it, they're chummy friends ala Cheers. Alcohol on the side and best buds all round!

I have a different sort of bonding with my mother, one that doesn't involve alcohol or chummy chats. She cuts my fingernails. Yes I'm 23 going 24 this year and yes I am fully capable of cutting my own fingernails. It's something my mother and I have between the two of us. The last time she cut my fingernails, she even buffed it till all my fingernails were shiny! Talk about being a queer son with mommy's home pedicure center.

On a completely different note, I think my mother is still in denial of my sexuality despite coming out to her last year. How did I conclude this? The Doctor has met my parents (I've met his family too) and they were getting along fine, maybe a tiny rough patch when my mom tried to share with him (The Doctor and The Non Believer) what Jehovah's Witnesses is. She kept telling The Doctor that one day I'll get married, more nonsense, kids and other nonsense that a son should be.

Maybe all that Jehovah's preaching is getting into her head and giving her false hope. To put it simply, there's not leverage that my parents can put on me to get married and have a "happy" family let alone using prayers and hope for the straight for me.

You know you love me.
XOXO

I think you should just give ur parents more time....

because being conservatives themselves would mean they're much prone to resist changes

all the best~ XD

Don't stray from the right path, my son! Pray hard so that you might resist temptation!

Holy dick!

Mom needs time and assurances that you're indeed happy the way you are. ^_^

Hopefully your mom can see it straight ( no pun intended ) one day and realizes that either she loses her son if she persists with her fanatic beliefs and denying the happiness the real you deserve OR she will have an addition in the family in the form of a Doctor son-in-law. No brainer, exactly!

Erm... somehow, i don't think she'll let her new-found religion get in the way of her son. I mean, they accepted your last bf so what about this one...

Just give her time.... when reality is hard, people do fall back on something that makes them feel better, in this case, the opium of the mind.
