The Five People You Meet In Heaven

I just got this book from a friend of mine last Friday. I have Tuesday's With Morrie and he wanted to read it so we swapped books. Only read the book yesterday morning on the way to work and I must say, its a great book though sad that the book began with death.

I say this book came on the right time for me due to the recent drama and in some strange ways, it creeps up in the most unexpected time.

All endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time...

How true... Though I wish I'm in the beginning of things to come right now. How depressing.

The only time we waste [life] is the time we spend thinking we are alone.

I really must snap out of this. Dem it... This roller coaster ain't over yet for me. If only I can find the emergency stop button on this ride.

Then there's a part where it wrote:

ALL PARENTS DAMAGE their children. It cannot be helped. Youth, like pristine glass, absorbs the prints of handlers. Some parents smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged little pieces, beyond repair.

Sad but true.

see why i don't approve of reproduction? most people are too stupid to know what to do with kids.

that's one of my fav book.. thought-provoking stuff =)

cant totally agree with all parents 'damage' their children. most of the time they meant well, and it's for our own good. of course there are exceptions.. but i guess no parent is perfect..

Quick: Are you suggesting parental screening?

Senaiboy: Sure they mean well but the fact remains, parents damage their children.

I am definitely gonna read this book, thanks for posting bits of it, sounds really interesting and I totally agree with Quicksilverlining's disapproval of reproduction, there are too many idiots out there reproducing like bunnies.

Hey. I think you're not giving parent's enough credit. Sure they're human and they make mistakes in bringing up the child, but so does everyone in everything. Parents try to do a lot for their kids.

Though it would be nice if parental training was more commonplace. :)

William: You'll finish it within a few days if not just one. :)

Firehorse: Yep. The book is that good that it sold itself to you with my sucky review. :P

Erra: Get it get it~~~

Ban: Its not that I'm discrediting parents. I'm just stating that the fact that it happens.

no! children are too precious to fuck up with! you CANNOT afford to make stupid mistakes (distinguish mistakes from allowing variables) while selecting character points when making children! it's like having a pure strength based mage who has no physical attack capacities, or making gambit use wolverine's claws, or giving a gun to a pacifist. no fucking up with children!
